According to the report, this demonstration engine is the basis of the new "super fan" series of engines, which can not only be installed in narrow body civil aircraft, but also provide powerful power for large wide body civil aircraft. Compared with RR's first generation Trent engine, the fuel efficiency is increased by 25%. In the first trial run, it will use 100% sustainable aviation fuel, most likely liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen.

The advanced key technology of "super fan" engine adopts the tested new "advance 3" core architecture and "alecsys" lean combustion system, which not only has the highest combustion efficiency, but also has less greenhouse gas emissions. The blades are made of ceramic matrix composite (CMC), the hood material is titanium alloy, and the weight of each aircraft can be reduced by 680kg.
